Compton Verney, working with Pallant House Gallery in Sussex , are running an amazing long-term programme called Outside In. There are no set creative criteria, boundaries in art process or limits on subject for the artists that choose to align themselves with the project.

Compton Verney has been chosen as the main exhibition venue for Outside In: Central, a region which includes Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, and the West Midlands. Outside In is a national project which aims to provide a platform for artists who find it difficult to access the art world either because of mental health issues, disability, health, social circumstance or because their work does not conform to what is normally considered as art.Artists are invited to to submit works via the Outside In website for entry into the open art competition. Having submitted the work, it will be considered for possible inclusion in the Outside In: National exhibition at Pallant House Gallery, Chichester opening in October 2012, and considered for the exhibition at Compton Verney from March to December 2013.

The Induction Day is an opportunity for all to find out more about the Outside In project. Come along for a chance to meet the Outside In team and an artist engaged with the project. We will tell you about the history ofOutside In, our aims and ethos, how you can get involved and how easy it is to create online galleries for your organisations and/or for artists.
