Medieval Coventry, Thursday 20th March Study Day
The ruins of St Michael’s Cathedral Coventry are a uniquely powerful reminder of the effects of war. They also happen to be the remains of England’s largest medieval parish church from which an astonishing collection of stained glass was removed a year prior to the city’s bombing. This study day examines the imaginative WMF Britain project to conserve and display the glass within the context of the much-overlooked buildings of medieval Coventry.
