We require an enthusiastic museum learning officer educated to postgraduate level with significant experience of developing and delivering education and access programmes in a museum or heritage context to schools and to people of different ages and from different backgrounds.
You will be mainly based at Oxford Castle Unlocked, a historic site located in the heart of Oxford. Visitors to the former prison learn about the real people and events from the site’s turbulent past.
You will plan the development and delivery of heritage focused education programmes, principally at Unlocked, as well as the Oxfordshire Museum Service partnership venues.
The Oxfordshire Museums service collects and cares for objects that record the history of the county and tell the stories of its people. We run the Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock and provide objects and services to museums and communities across Oxfordshire. We are proud to be one of 16 services nationally who have recently been selected by Arts Council England as Major Partners to lead in delivering excellence in museum services.
The post is part time and we prefer the hours to be worked over 3 days.
